Remember Murphy Brown and the debate about the glorification of
And then there was the entertainment industry v.s. President Bush and their relentless piling on before the election. Their cheering of the stiff from Massachusetts. They gave millions. Ben Affleck campaigned for Kerry. Bush was re-elected despite Pierce Bosnan and Sean Penn and the truly stupid class that makes up much of Hollywood. It is the measure of their egomania that they think people should care what they think, and they demonstrate shallowness of their brain processes that they can't figure out that people resent their intrusion. How stupid do they think we are to accept their advice on flood control because they once saw a movie?
Always a day late from any trend, the entertainment crowd races forward to nail the issue with the same faulty instincts as Al Gore, about whom Ann Coulter noted that his instincts are so clumsy that he throws himself into the mosh pit at the exact moment the crowd parted. So, too, do the celebrities. Already the country is so awash in celebrity concerts and fundraisers that even the Globe and Mail laments the circus. And there is nothing a Lefty likes better than rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous and vapid.
Think of this current campaign to discredit president Bush as a public service - validating the contempt that most people have for them. The proof is that the Democrat/Media haven't won a major election since 1994. They have lost both houses of Congress, most Governor races, the Supreme Court, and virtually every battle they have championed. They haven't stopped or even slowed down the war in Iraq. And they motivate the Right like nothing else could. Let em rant.
